Spartans sail through Hale in boys varsity baseball

BAINBRIDGE - The Bainbridge High varsity baseball team claimed a monster win over the visitors from Nathan Hale.

BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge High varsity baseball team claimed a monster win over the visitors from Nathan Hale last last Thursday.

The final score was 12-1.

The visitors scored their sole run in the fourth, but by the bottom of the fifth the game was over.

BHS led 4-0 at the end of the third inning, jumping ahead to a 6-1 lead in the fourth. Then, after an epic fifth inning where the Spartans brought home six runs, the game was called due to the excessive lead.

The usual pack of Spartan soldiers left their mark at the plate against the Raiders.

Blake Swanson finished the game with three at-bats, two runs and two hits.

Carter Kraus also managed three at-bats as well as one run. Truman Miller had four at-bats and one hit, while Duncan McCombs contributed one at-bat, one hit and one run.

Evan Ferguson ended the contest with one at-bat and two runs.

Jack O’Neill stepped to the plate three times and managed one run and one hit.

In his two at-bats, Trent Schulte managed one hit.

David Wellbrock got two hits and two runs in his three trips to the plate, and Max Thomas had one run as well.

Brice Kozlosky had three at-bats, two runs and one hit.
