SEATTLE – The Bainbridge Spartans certainly gave the Roosevelt Rough Riders a bumpy ride.

Actually, it was worse than rough. Bainbridge blasted Roosevelt 13-1 in girls varsity softball Tuesday that was called after three innings because of the mercy rule.

The Metro League contest was a makeup for a game that was first planned for April 14, but postponed due to weather and field conditions.

The Spartans wasted little time in this week’s restart at Woodland Park. Bainbridge scored one run in the first, then three in the second, to jump ahead 4-0.

Then, in the third, it was good night, Irene. Bainbridge scored 13 runs to send the Rough Riders back to the barn.

Riley Gregoire was perfect at the plate, batting 2-for-2 with a home run and a double to drive in four runs.

Emma Lindsay also brought four Spartans home, with four RBIs in a 2-for-4 performance.

Maddie Loverich went 1-for-2 with three RBIs, and fellow Spartan Tiana Rabang went 1-for-2 with two RBIs.

Bainbridge’s record improved to 8-6 (8-2 Metro League; 3-2 Mountain Division).
