Spartan lineup too much for PA

Bainbridge won nine of 11 races — and also the 1-meter diving event — as the Spartans overpowered Port Angeles 129-55 in girls swimming & diving Tuesday at the Bainbridge Aquatic Center.

The Spartans got off to a strong start in the 200-yard medley relay, with the power lineup of Zoey Ragan, Hannah Tonsmann, Hannah Lee and Amelia Kimball taking first in 2:02.10.

Moorea Eldon-Everts won the next race, the 200-yard freestyle, in 2:09.83.

Xaveria Rodriguez won the 50-yard freestyle for Bainbridge High in 25.75, followed in second by Spartan teammate Tonsmann, who touched the wall at 26.60.

Two simultaneous medical emergencies involving spectators on both sides of the pool prompted a temporary halt to the meet until Bainbridge firefighters provided treatment to the pair.

The meet resumed with diving, and Bryn Tiernan won the event for Bainbridge with a finals score of 150.29.

The Spartans also won the 100-yard freestyle, with Eden Michael claiming first in 59.31; and the 500-yard freestyle, with Margaret Hayes finishing first in 5:32.33.

The BHS relay team of Kate Tlapa, Siena Levan, Lucy King and Michael followed with a 1:50.90 win in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

Eldon-Everts was first in the 100-yard backstroke (1:05.79), followed in second by teammate Elena Conklin (1:10.77).

Hayes also won the 100-yard breaststroke for Bainbridge in 1:14.80.

The Spartans final win came in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
