Spartan gymnasts first again for BHS

Sarah Rice led the Spartans as Bainbridge topped Roosevelt and West Seattle in girls gymnastics.

SEATTLE –  Sarah Rice led the Spartans as Bainbridge topped Roosevelt and West Seattle in girls gymnastics.

Bainbridge tallied 153.2 points for first place, while Roosevelt was second with 132.3 and West Seattle placed third with 131.1.

Rice was the all-around champ with 32.6.

Fellow Spartan Miller Shor was second (31.7) while teammate Emma Chee placed third (30.4).

Rice also was tops on the bars, beam and vault.

She scored a 7.4 for first place on bars. Juliana Hinkley scored a 7.0 and placed second.

Rice’s 8.5 was the top score on beam, and Shor again came in second for the Spartans with a 7.7. Chee was third with a 7.5.

Shor had a standout performance on floor and finished first with a score of 9.05.

Rice was second (8.3) and Chee claimed third (8.2).

On vault, Rice won the event in another close contest with her fellow Spartans. She scored an 8.4, while Shor was second with an 8.25 and Hinkley third with an 8.05.
