Soggy start to Spartan tennis season

Tuesday was terrible. Wednesday was worse, or close to it.

With near-constant rain soaking Bainbridge Island and the rest of Puget Sound this week, the Bainbridge Spartans were forced off the tennis courts twice in the past days due to inclement weather.

Tuesday’s varsity matches on the road against the Ballard Beavers were canceled due to the rain, and Tuesday’s junior varsity play at home against Ballard was also put off.

Wednesday was more of the same: Cancelations for both the varsity and JV teams.

The varsity team was scheduled to host Bishop Blanchet at home, while the JV game off-island was rained out, as well.

The Spartans will now start their season — weather permitting — on Wednesday, March 22 at home against Garfield.
