BAINBRIDGE – Six young soccer players from Bainbridge Island are part of the currently top-ranked youth team in the state.

Ben Olliffe, Derek Klein, Jordan Manor, Jake Prodzinski, Rily Dixon and Thomas Crowley anchor the roster of the West Sound Football Club BU98 soccer team, which is in first place in the Washington Youth Soccer Regional CLub League (RCL) Division 1 standings.

“The RCL consists of regional clubs [of which WestSound FC, formerly Kitsap Alliance FC, is a part of] throughout the state and is designed to have the highest level of competitive play,” explained team manager Michael Klein. “Each age group in the RCL normally has four levels. Last year, the WestSound FC BU98 team advanced from Division 2 to Division 1.”

“Credit should go to the Bainbridge Island Youth FC program,” he added. “The boys developed their soccer skills with BIFC during their grade school and middle school years.”
