Losses dampen BHS LAX excursion

A pair of non-league losses marred the Bainbridge High School varsity boys lacrosse team’s record — the third and fourth defeat of the season, respectively — following the island squad’s annual weekend trip to Oregon for some out-of-state competition.

PORTLAND, Oregon – A pair of non-league losses marred the Bainbridge High School varsity boys lacrosse team’s record — the third and fourth defeat of the season, respectively — following the island squad’s annual weekend trip to Oregon for some out-of-state competition.

First, Oregon Episcopal slipped past the Spartans 8-7 in overtime on Friday, May 6 in the Portland suburb of Raleigh Hills.

The very next day, BHS was bested 13-5 by Jesuit High School in Beaverton.

Bainbridge is tied with Eastside Catholic for the top spot in the Metro Division I standings with a perfect 7-0 league record.

O’Dea has laid claim to the third spot with a 7-2 record, and Seattle Prep is trailing in fourth with 6-2.

BHS returned to the Evergreen State for their final regular season match, against Seattle Prep, on Tuesday, May 10.
