Lakeridge tops BI boys for 18-7 win

MERCER ISLAND - The final in a series of three consecutive non-league matches held on Mercer Island ended with an 18-7 win over the Spartans by Lakeridge High Sunday, March 29.

MERCER ISLAND – The final in a series of three consecutive non-league matches held on Mercer Island ended with an 18-7 win over the Spartans by Lakeridge High Sunday, March 29.

The loss on the road left the BHS varsity boys lacrosse team with an overall season record of 3-5 (2-1 in league play). The squad is ranked in fourth place in the Metro League’s Division I, behind Eastside Catholic, Seattle Academy and O’Dea.

Bainbridge goals were scored by Jack Frickelton (two), Sal Iaria (one), Ben LaRoche (three) and Max Oden (one).

BHS goalie Rob Morris, who played for 12 minutes, managed two saves for four shots. Charlie Shrout, the other Spartan in the net, played 36 minutes and ended the game with eight saves for 24 shots.
