Franklin falls fast to BHS in girls soccer

Kamie Coryell scored a hat trick — and her fellow Spartans kicked in another 10 points — as Bainbridge drubbed Franklin 13-0 in girls varsity soccer at Bainbridge Memorial Stadium Tuesday.

BAINBRIDGE – Kamie Coryell scored a hat trick — and her fellow Spartans kicked in another 10 points — as Bainbridge drubbed Franklin 13-0 in girls varsity soccer at Bainbridge Memorial Stadium Tuesday.

The Spartans sped away in the first half with seven goals.

Celia Story put Bainbridge on the board in the fourth minute after netting a pass from Riley Gregoire.

Story then fed Coryell for her first goal in the Metro League matchup in the seventh minute.

Mackenzie Chapman put Bainbridge up 3-0 (Coryell assist) in the 10th minute, and Coryell turned around and tacked on another goal a minute later (Gregoire assist).

In the 15th minute, Mackenzie Chapman scored with a pass from Coryell and Bainbridge led, 5-0.

Franklin then got a breather from the Spartan scoring surge, but that ended in the 28th minute when Rylee Dutton beat the Franklin keeper (Audrey Marcum assist).

Story closed out the scoring in the first half in the 38th minute (Kate Matthews pass).

Bainbridge spread the goals around the rest of the way.

Fiona Stephens netted a pass from Carly D’Amato in the 47th minute for the Spartans’ eighth goal.

Coryell booted her third goal of the evening in the 50th minute (Carly D’Amato assist) and Deahna King added one of her own (Aerin Amore assist) in the 55th minute for the 10-0 Bainbridge advantage.

Ellie VanSlyke followed with two scoring strikes for the Spartans; the first in the 58th off a Sophia Bidinger pass, the second in the 65th minute from Audrey Marcum.

Ellie Cowan’s solo shot in the 67th minute sealed the scoring for BHS.
