BAINBRIDGE – The first ever Bainbridge Island Cross Country “Alumni vs. Team” race will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 18.

In this special competition, Bainbridge XC alumni will take on this year’s team in a friendly 5K race through Fort Ward.

Both teams will be scored with XC rules for each gender. The winning team after scoring will win glory, bragging rights — and top individuals will even win prizes.

Anyone who has earned a certificate of participation or higher from BIXC and graduated from high school counts as an alumni and anyone who sincerely plans on running BIXC next year counts as a part of the team — though any member of the community can join in this free event as well.
