BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge Island Football Club U18 boys team will compete in the quarter-finals of the Washington Youth Soccer Recreational Cup, following a recent win over Jefferson County SC at Battle Point Park.

The opening minutes saw both teams create scoring opportunities.

Bainbridge opened the scoring in the fifteenth minute through a shot from Asher Bedell from outside the box.

Only two minutes had passed when a quick combination with Byron Alvarez and Evan Hanson fed Bedell for his second goal of the game.

With Bainbridge’s confidence rising, Nate Marx playing center defense, flanked by Ian Mackin and Cole Schardein, won the ball, carried it forward and played an excellent pass to Wilson Donohue to make it 3-0 after 28 minutes of play.

Bainbridge would continue making attacking runs through Ruark Bohonos, Jonathan Owen and Harrison Hung, with Owen and Hung scoring in the second half.

Head Coach Mark Hanson has coached the team for five seasons. Visit www.bifc.net for more information.
