BHS knocks off Prep in softball

SEATTLE – Riley Gregoire and Emma Lindsay led the Spartan hit parade as Bainbridge beat Seattle Prep 8-2 in varsity fastpitch softball Monday at at Bobby Morris Playfields in Cal Anderson Park.

Bainbridge stepped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning then fell behind to the Panthers, 2-1, in the second.

But the Bainbridge bats came alive in the third, however, and the Spartans shot ahead 7-2 with a six-run inning and held Prep scoreless the rest of the way.

Deahna King picked up the victory on the mound, her eighth (8-6) and allowed just two hits over seven innings. She also finished with eight strikeouts.

Gregoire went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and an RBI. Lindsay went 3-for-4 and had a triple.
