BHS duffers advance to state

Three Bainbridge High School varsity golfers will advance to the girls state tournament, having earned a spot in the bracket at the District competition Monday.

SEATTLE – Three Bainbridge High School varsity golfers will advance to the girls state tournament, having earned a spot in the bracket at the District competition Monday.

Kiera Havill, Claire Lunzer and Taylor Tye will move on to the pinnacle Washington Interscholastic Activities Association golf event of the year, the 2016 3A Girls State Golf Championships on Tuesday, May 24 and Wednesday, May 25 at Indian Canyon Golf Course in Spokane.

Six Spartans competed in the district tourney.

“It was a good day,” said Spartan Head Coach Ian Havill. “Lucy Hanacek and Nicole Daniels did not [advance], but gained some valuable tournament experience.”
