SEATTLE – It was a lousy first quarter for the Bainbridge boys varsity basketball team during Friday’s game against Bishop Blanchet, so much so that they just couldn’t make up the points difference, despite a miraculous turnaround starting in the second.

BHS ultimately endured a 72-61 loss.

Blanchet sprinted out ahead on the board, outscoring the Spartans 20-6 in the first quarter.

Then, in the second, BHS came back and outpaced Blanchet 14-13.

In the second half, BHS again claimed the quarter and dominated the third quarter 15-13.

In the game’s final quarter, neither team seemed willing to give and, in fact, drove each other to the game’s highest-scoring quarter of all (26-all).
