Bainbridge Island Swim Club takes seventh place at PNSC

Bainbridge Island Swim Club had more than 40 swimmers qualify to swim at the Pacific Northwest Swimming Championships, and the team finished with both boys and girls athletes finishing in the top 10 in their events.

FEDERAL WAY – Bainbridge Island Swim Club had more than 40 swimmers qualify to swim at the Pacific Northwest Swimming Championships, and the team finished with both boys and girls athletes finishing in the top 10 in their events.

The meet, held at King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way on Dec. 18-21, hosted both 14-and-under age group swimmers and 15-and-over swimmers. A total of 1,306 athletes competed in total.

Bainbridge Island Swim Club’s 14-and-under swimmers placed sixth overall as a team with 1,283 points.

Additionally, four BISC swimmers were chosen to be members of the Pacific Northwest Swimming’s All Stars Team that will complete at the Pacific Coast All Star Meet in Commerce, California on Jan. 10-11. These swimmers include Eleanor Beers, Ian Lipton, Andrew Witty and Makai Ingalls.

Those placing individually in the top 10 for Bainbridge included:

GIRLS 11-12

Eleanor Beers: First place, 50 freestyle; third place, 100 freestyle; ninth place, 200 freestyle; sixth place, 50 backstroke; second place, 50 butterfly; third place, 100 butterfly.

Moorea Eldon-Everts: Seventh place, 50 butterfly.

GIRLS 13-14

Hannah Tonsmann: Fifth place, 1650 freestyle.

Shea Shardein: Eighth place, 200 backstroke.

Erin Miller: Ninth place, 50 butterfly.

GIRLS 15 AND OVER

Allison Murphy: 10th place, 200 backstroke.

Ani Duni: sixth place, 50 breaststroke.

BOYS 10 AND UNDER

Collin Bushey: First place, 50 freestyle; second place, 100 freestyle; third place; 200 freestyle, third place; 50 backstroke, third place; 50 butterfly; fourth place, 100 butterfly.

Mitchell Bell: 10th place, 500 freestyle.

BOYS 11-12

Max Eyrich: Fifth place, 200 freestyle; fifth place, 50 breaststroke; eighth place, 200 breaststroke; 10th place 200 butterfly; eighth place, 200 individual medley; seventh place, 400 individual medley.

Ian Lipton: Sixth place, 200 freestyle; fourth place, 500 freestyle; second place, 1650 freestyle; ninth place, 100 backstroke; ninth place, 200 backstroke.

James Sanchez: Fifth place, 50 breaststroke; fourth place, 50 butterfly; fourth place, 100 butterfly; fourth place, 100 individual medley; eighth place, 400 individual medley.

Andrew Witty: Fifth place, 50 backstroke, fourth place; 100 backstroke, first place, 200 backstroke; second place, 200 individual medley; fifth place, 400 individual medley.
