Bainbridge brings home top XC win

Bainbridge brought home a one-two punch finishing record from the year’s first official cross country meet at Seattle Prep.

SEATTLE – Bainbridge brought home a one-two punch finishing record from the year’s first official cross country meet at Seattle Prep Wednesday, Sept. 16 at Lower Woodland Park.

The Bainbridge High School runners took the top spot in the 5,000-meter event in the womens division with 19 points total, beating out runners from Ingraham, Nathan Hale, Seattle Prep and Franklin.

Jackie McVay (20:52) and Naomi von Ruden (20:56) were the top Spartan finishers, first and second place, respectively. BHS runners claimed five of the top 10 finishing spots.

In the mens bracket, BHS took second place with 44 points, just behind Nathan Hale (29 points). The Spartan’s Ryan Cox (16.49) did finish in first place, with Carlo Ruggerio (17:29) in fourth.
