Rose Galosich

September 19, 1919 – November 20, 2011

      Rose Galosich, age 92, died peacefully in her sleep at home in Winslow on November 20th of natural causes.

      Rose was born in Veli Rat, Yugoslavia to Marijan and Antica Mirkovic on September 19th, 1919. She grew up at a Lighthouse on the Dalmation Coast with three brothers and sisters. In 1939 she married Marijan Galosich and moved to the U.S. Rose and Marijan lived in Portland and Everett, Washington before moving to Bainbridge in 1943 to the home in Hawley where she lived for the rest of her life.

      Rose was a stay at home Mom until the mid sixties when she went to work for Frederick & Nelson where she was employed until mandatory retirement at age 72. After retirement, Rose studied Russian and History at Seattle Community College for several years. Rose and Marijan were avid gardeners and took great pride in their flower and vegetable gardens.

      She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her Lord, family and friends with all her heart and will be dearly missed.

      Rose was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Marijan, her parents and siblings.

      She is survived by her children and their spouses Mary and Mark Ault of Los Angeles and Bob and Dale Galosich of Anchorage. Grandchildren Brian Ault, Lisa Ault, Neil Galosich, Rob Galosich, Andra Galosich Lozano and great grandchildren Ryan Ault, Eric Galosich, Bo Galosich, Dustin Lozano, Tanner Lozano and Noah Lozano.

      A family gravesite service will be held on December 17th at Calvary Cemetery at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Meals on Wheels, Interfaith Volunteers Caregivers, of Bainbridge Island (IVC) or your favorite charity in Roses name.
