Raymond Lee Johnson

June 28, 1916 – December 15, 2010

      Raymond Lee Johnson, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at The Hospice of Kitsap County Care Center in Bremerton, Washington. He was born on June 28, 1916 in Forks, Washington to Sverre A. and Ruth A. Johnson. He was 94 years of age.

      Raymond lived in Forks from 1916-1943, Bremerton, WA from 1943-1947 and finally Bainbridge Island from 1947 until his death.  He graduated from, Quillayute High School in 1933 and from Washington State University with a Bachelors Degree in 1938. He worked throughout his career with PSNS-Machinist, Rodal Motors, the Water District and the Bainbridge Island School District. He was a member of the Grange, Oddfellows, the CB Club and Port Madison Lutheran Church on Bainbridge Island. Raymond enjoyed fishing, woodworking, bowling, photography and working on cars. 

      He is survived by his children; Judith Wyvel of Poulsbo, WA, Karen Myers (Larry) of Bremerton, WA, James Johnson (Diane) of Bainbridge Island, WA, Bradford Johnson of Bremerton, WA and Dale Johnson of Silverdale, WA. He also leaves behind three stepchildren; Luther, Pete and Joy Bland. There are nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives’, Rita Lampman (59 years) and Louise Bland, also his grandson Brian Johnson and son-in-law Robert Wyvel. 

      Family and friends were respectfully invited to attend the Graveside Service on Monday, December 20, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Seabold Cemetery on Bainbridge Island. A reception followed at the family home.
