      Patrick W. Warga died surrounded by his family on December 27, 2011 in a San Diego Hospital. He was 46 years old. He was working as a tug boat captain on a job in Tampico, Mexico, where he suffered fatal head injuries during a robbery.

      Pat was born March 31, 1965 in Trenton, New Jersey. He came to the Pacific Northwest as a child where he discovered his love of sailing and the water. He would often spend hours as a young boy out in a sailing dingy. Pat joined the Sea Scouts as a teen and competed in many sailing races. After high school, Pat began work on commercial fishing vessels. He began as a deckhand, and ended up owning two fishing boats, spending over 20 fishing seasons working in Alaska. In the off seasons, he obtained his US Coast Guard credentials and began working for local tug boat companies, his latest career was as a captain for Foss Maritime in Seattle.

      Pat was a caring husband, father, son, brother and neighbor. He was always taking care of others. He had a fun sense of humor and an easy going smile. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially on trips to Eastern Washington and Ocean Shores.

      Pat is survived by his wife, Kelly Warga, his three children; Adam, Anna and Benjamin, and dog Molly of Bainbridge Island. His father Joe Warga of Seattle, brother Eric Warga (wife Janice), nephew Chatham Warga of Cordova, AK, sisters Erin Warga of Denver, CO, Amelia and Alison Warga of Seattle and in-laws Nick and Helen Schueller of Silverdale, WA. He is preceded in death by his mother Marita Hines and his stepmother Carol Warga.

      A family gathering was held in his honor on December 31, 2011 at the Warga home. Memorial gifts can be made to the Patrick Warga Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank.
