Layton Byron Jones

      Layton Byron Jones died at home in Gig Harbor July 15. He was 98.

      He is survived by his wife Bernice of Sequim; daughters Karen (Jim) Amis; Janet (Brent) Packard; Cynthia (Stephen) Clark; sister Helen Jones (Lyle); stepchildren Michael McKenzie, Patrick McKenzie, Heidi McKay, Wendy Wynne and Heather McKenzie-Davidson and their respective families; 18 grandchildren; 68 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Aurora; son Jeffrey Layton; granddaughter, Kathryn Jane; brothers Joseph Talmage, Collins Elmer and Harold Walter; John Ralph; sister Edna Ruth Jones Clifford.

      Funeral services will be July 30 in Utah. Burial is at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, Salt Lake City, Utah. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the LDS Church Perpetual Education Fund or the Church Missionary Fund.
