Faye Wickstrom Stipek

Faye Wickstrom Stipek, age 67, died May 22 at Harrison Hospital.

She was born Aug. 12, 1934 in Seattle to Carl Axel and Phyllis (Kaye) Wickstrom.

She graduated from Lincoln High School in Seattle in 1952, and later acquired a BA in English and Swedish and K-12 teaching credentials from the University of Washington in 1968.

She married Robert B. Stipek on Dec. 29, 1959 in Seattle.

She led a long career as a public school teacher in the Highline, Edmonds and Bainbridge School Districts, retiring in 1995. She also taught Swedish at UW.

She enjoyed writing poetry and short stories, and was very active in her church.

She is survived by her husband Robert of Hansville, Wash.; sons Robert C. Stipek of Bremerton, Brian P. Stipek of Seattle and Grant G. Stipek of Bremerton; daughter Gwendolyn J. (Brian) Styke of Freeland, Wash.; brothers Phillip (Betsy) Wickstrom of Tuscon, Ariz. and Trent (Nancy) Wickstrom of Seattle; and two grandchildren.

Private family services were held. Remembrances may be made to the Bainbridge Library.
