Daisy Viola Hanley

Daisy Viola Hanley died May 16 on Bainbridge Island.

She was born in Finland in 1926, and moved to Brooklyn, N.Y., after World War II, where she worked as a physical therapist until she married George Hanley.

The Hanleys settled in Los Angeles where they raised their children and enjoyed traveling around the world.

An avid gardener who loved to prepare family meals, Daisy also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, knitting, Boxer dogs and bird watching. She had a knack for connecting with many people. She will be remembered as a great conversationalist and enthusiastic listener.

She was preceded in death by husband George Hanley in 1995; sister Margit; and brother Rangvald.

Daisy is survived by her daughter Robin of Bainbridge Island; son Timothy (Cindy) of Los Angeles; grandchildren Alex and Amanda, and Kelsey and Dean; nephews, nieces and grand nieces.
