Carol Whitney Crull

August 10, 1915 – July 7, 2011

      Carol Whitney Crull, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2011 in Bellevue, WA. She was born on August 10, 1915 and was 95 years of age.

      Carol was the oldest and last surviving member of the Dr. Harry Carroll Whitney family. She was a resident of Seattle and Bainbridge Island, WA. Carol was approaching her 96th birthday. She tried to remain active until the end of her life.

      Carol was president of her high school class and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She then graduated from USC where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Carol was of the first class of WAVES to enter Smith College; North Hampton, MA for officer’s training. She was stationed at the office of port director, NYC where she worked in encryption and decoding. Carol was a member of the Seattle Tennis Club. She was a member of Ryther four and twenty, St. Nicholas Guild as well as the altar guild at Epiphany Church in Seattle where she will come to rest with her husband, Commander Ford Reginald Crull.

      She is survived by her daughter Whitney Hines and her husband Richard as well as her grandchildren Greer and Blakely and son Ford.
