UPDATE | Bainbridge police release security camera footage of robbery suspect

The Bainbridge Island Police Department has released security camera footage taken of a suspect from Saturday afternoon’s robbery at the Chevron gas station on High School Road.

Bainbridge police have released two photos of the man believed to have threatened a cashier at the store with a crowbar before escaping with an undisclosed amount of cash.

According to police, a man in his 20s entered the gas station just before 1 p.m. Saturday, displayed a crow bar and demanded money.

He then left the gas station on foot, going south toward Winslow.

Attempts to find the robber using a police canine unit from Bremerton were unsuccessful.

Images released by police show the suspect wearing black pants and black athletic shoes with white rims, as well as gloves and a black-and-white baseball cap. He had a blue backpack with black straps slung over his shoulder, and a short-cropped, tapered military-style haircut.

One image shows him looking at merchandise in the gas station before the robbery occurred.

The city is asking people with any information on the suspect or the robbery to call 911.
