Washington State Ferries is advising travelers on the Bainbridge Island-Seattle route that the 188-car ferry MV Walla Walla will replace the 202-car MV Wenatchee for three days: Sunday, Oct. 19 through the end of the service day on Tuesday, Oct. 21.

Drive-on customers may experience heavier than usual vehicle traffic during the switch.

WSF said the temporary downsizing is needed to maintain a full sailing schedule while the Wenatchee is out of service for its annual mandatory U.S. Coast Guard safety inspection.
