Tirman gets nod from carpenters in Bainbridge council race

Matthew Tirman has picked up an endorsement from the Pacific Northwest Regional Council of Carpenters in his campaign for the District 3, South Ward seat on the Bainbridge Island City Council.

Tirman, a first-time candidate, is running against Theodore “Ted” Jones for the position.

Councilman Roger Townsend, the incumbent District 3 councilman, decided against running for a second term.

“This endorsement, along with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, highlights our campaign’s emphasis on providing better wages and benefits to our families, and the importance of developing a skilled and diverse workforce,” Tirman said.
