Bainbridge Island Police arrested a 14-year-old Woodward Middle School student Tuesday on four counts of burglary.

Police said the teenager was positively identified by a Bainbridge Island School District employee, who allegedly caught the student in the act of trying to enter offices in Eagle Harbor High School.

Officers were called to the school on Saturday, Jan. 4 when a staff member working on the weekend noticed two juvenile males in the hallway inside the school.

When confronting the youths, he noticed that one had a lock-picking device in the door, according to Bainbridge police. When the staff member asked the youths to step into a nearby office with him, they fled the building.

A Woodward staff member believed there was a student at that school who matched the description of one of the burglars, and when the Eagle Harbor High staff member saw the youth, police said he immediately identified him as the burglar.

The student was detained, and allegedly admitted to entering the building unlawfully on three other occasions. He was arrested and taken to Kitsap County Juvenile detention for booking.

Police are seeking his 15-year-old accomplice.  No items have yet been confirmed as stolen from the school, authorities said.
