Tawresey receives honors from The Masonry Society

The Masonry Society has announced that John G. Tawresey of Bainbridge Island has been named an Honorary Member of the Society, only the 15th in the society’s history and the first since 2011.

The Masonry Society has announced that John G. Tawresey of Bainbridge Island has been named an Honorary Member of the Society, only the 15th in the society’s history and the first since 2011.

The society is an association of design professionals and contractors that is dedicated to the advancement of design and use of masonry in the building industry.

Tawresey is a past president of The Masonry Society and past editor of TMS Journal. He is an active member and has served in most roles within the society. An expert on masonry design, and especially curtain walls and reinforced masonry veneer, Tawresey has shared his knowledge throughout his career via seminars and courses at the University of Washington.

The organization will formally recognize Tawresey at its annual meeting awards luncheon on Oct. 17 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
