Storage businesses face off in pet food challenge

Pro-Guard Heated Storage of Poulsbo will take on Bainbridge Self Storage for another pet food drive challenge.

The food wars are back.

But it’s all for a good cause: hungry dogs and cats.

Pro-Guard Heated Storage of Poulsbo will take on Bainbridge Self Storage for another pet food drive challenge.

With all contributions going to the Kitsap Humane Society, the race to collect the most pet food donations will start Saturday, Oct. 4 and continue through Saturday, Oct. 18.

Both businesses will accept anything from cat and dog food to towels and disposable lint roller — an item in high demand at the Humane Society.

This is the third pet food challenge by the storage businesses.

Last February, Reliable Storage, Pacific Storage, Bainbridge North Storage and Bainbridge Self Storage went head-to-head as Team Reliable and Team Bainbridge.

Combined, the businesses collected approximately 2,000 pounds of food.

The winning business will have bragging rights until next year’s event, while

100 percent of the proceeds from the event will go towards the Kitsap Humane Society.

Both teams will also receive a free dinner by

El Sabor Casero Restaurant at the end of the food drive.

Items can be dropped off for the Bainbridge Self Storage team at 9300 Sportsman Club Road or its Poulsbo location at Pacific Storage at 15411 Silverdale Way.

Other storage facilities interested in participating may contact Bainbridge Self Storage at 206-855-9500.
