The Washington State Transportation Commission is launching its biennial ferry rider survey in April and is encouraging the public to participate.

The survey is conducted online and will be emailed to all members of the Ferry Riders Opinion Group (FROG).

Anyone can join the FROG panel by going to www.ferryridersopiniongroup.com.

The FROG survey panel was created in 2009 as a way to connect with ferry riders and those interested in ferries on an ongoing basis.

According to the commissioner, there are currently more than 6,000 FROG participants. Members of the group share their opinions and concerns on a variety of ferry topics via several online surveys throughout the year, and survey results are reported to the state Legislature and state decision-makers, including Washington State Ferries.

Participation in the research is voluntary. Individual survey responses are kept confidential and are only used for statistical purposes.
