An 3.5-magnitude earthquake just south of Bremerton early Monday morning was felt by hundreds of people across Kitsap County and beyond.

No damage was reported from the temblor.

The earthquake happened at 4:04 a.m. Monday, July 29, according to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network, and was centered 9.8 miles southwest of Bremerton at a depth of 15.6 miles.

The U.S. Geological Survey said it had received 189 reports from residents who felt the quake Monday morning, from as far south as Shelton to as far north as Whidbey Island.

The USGS received eight reports from Bainbridge Islanders who felt the quake. They rated the level of shaking as “weak,” and no one reported any damage.

People west of Bremerton, as well as in Silverdale, Port Orchard, Suquamish and Kingston, said the shaking was stronger but still light.
