Senator Rolfes is guest speaker at next SWERV meeting

State Senator Christine Rolfes will be the guest speaker at the next meeting of SWERV, Savvy Women Exchanging Relevant Views.

SWERV will meet at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 8 at Filipino American Hall, 7566 High School Road.

Rolfes, a Bainbridge lawmaker for the 23rd District, will present “News from the State Capitol” in a discussion of the 2018 Legislative Session. Rolfes chaired the Senate’s budget committee, Ways and Means, and was vice chair of the Early Learning and K-12 Education committee. These assignments put her in the heart of legislation to overhaul basic education financing.

The senator will also look forward to the 2019 session, and wants to hear what’s on people’s minds. Attendees are encouraged to bring questions and ideas.
