A Bainbridge Island group of PEPS — Program for Early Parent Support — will get started in February.

PEPS is a Seattle-based nonprofit that connects and supports moms and dads as they begin their new role as parents. PEPS makes it easy for new parents to build connections by forming neighborhood-based peer support groups that start when babies are up to 4 months old.

An evening group for new Bainbridge Island families will start on Monday, Feb. 2 and meet weekly for 12 weeks from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

This group is for parents who have a baby that will be up to 4 months old when the group starts. Parents can attend as a couple or individually.

A trained volunteer facilitator does all the legwork; they set up the logistics of the meetings, communicate with families about where and when they need to go and they lead the group through discussions on parenting topics. Meetings rotate between group members homes, and always include break time for informal socializing and connecting with other new parents.
