PAWS of Bainbridge Island and North Kitsap is urgently in need of additional volunteers to help staff its new state-of-the-art facility in Pleasant Beach Village.

PAWS Adoption Counselors help visitors meet adoptable cats and kittens, and fill out accompanying applications. Volunteers work at least one four-hour shift per month and are an integral part of the local nonprofit organization.

Adoption counselors must be 18 or older.

“You certainly don’t need to be an expert,” said PAWS executive director Mark Hufford. “The main thing is you need to love cats and people. Our staff provides full training on the rest.”

Volunteer applications available on the PAWS website at www.NorthKitsapPAWS.org or at PAWS at Pleasant Beach, 4688 Lynwood Center Road (adjacent to Vintage Home and Garden).
