Bainbridge Island’s Utility Advisory Committee will finally have a chance to hold another meeting.
The UAC has not met in more than seven months, as membership in the committee had dwindled to just two members.
On Monday, however, the city council appointed new commissioners to the UAC and five other advisory boards.
The council reappointed Andy Maron to Position 1 on the UAC, and also voted to install Nancy Transue in Position 3 and Steven Johnson in Position 5.
While the move created a quorum on the seven-member board, the city is still seeking additional volunteers for the UAC and other undermanned committees.
A total of 15 commissioners were approved at this week’s council meeting. Eight were reappointments, and seven seats were filled with newly appointed commissioners.
The other appointments are:
Design Review Board
Position 1, Robert Highman
Position 2, James McNett (Reappointed)
Position 6, Chuck Depew
Historic Preservation Commission
Position 1, Stephanie Hanna (Reappointed)
Position 2, James Forsher (Reappointed)
Planning Commission
Position 1, Mike Lewars (Reappointed)
Position 2, Mack Pearl (Reappointed)
Road Ends Advisory Committee
Position 1, Marci Burkel
Position 2, Bill McCoy
The city is still accepting applications for vacant positions on the Civil Service Commission (one position), Environmental Technical Advisory Committee (six positions) and Design Review Board (one position). These positions will remain open until filled, and applications can be found at http://www.bainbridgewa.gov/222/Citizen-Advisory-Groups.
