March through Winslow

The Review presents a series of photo galleries from the recent rallies and historic marches.

Islanders descended on Winslow early Saturday morning to march through downtown in a “sister march” to the Women’s March on Washington.

A crowd of hundreds gathered at Eagle Harbor Congregational Church before the massive group marched down Winslow Way, with some boarding the 8:45 a.m. ferry to participate in the Seattle Womxn’s March, while others stayed at the terminal to cheer on their fellow marchers.

Afterward, Bainbridge march organizer Ann Strickland said she was “truly feeling like the march was not just a moment.”

“We are cultivating and nurturing a movement that supports unity, equality and stewardship of this planet — and to paraphrase a now famous song (“I Can’t Keep Quiet” by MILCK) in the movement — we will not keep quiet!”
