Kilmer hosts telephone town hall Wednesday

Congressman Derek Kilmer is hosting another telephone town hall.

The next one is planned for 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 14.

Residents of Washington’s 6th Congressional District can call in to talk about the issues that matter to them, and participants will have the opportunity to ask Rep. Kilmer (D-WA) a question or leave a message with their comments.

“Our region is directly affected by what does and doesn’t happen in Washington, D.C.,” Kilmer said. “From important decisions about how Congress can best invest to grow jobs in our region, to legislation securing the nation’s schools, it is important for me to hear from the folks I represent,” Kilmer said.

Residents of the 6th District who would like to join the call can send an email to kilmer.teletownhall@mail.house.gov with their name and phone number by noon Tuesday, March 13.

People who sign up before the deadline will receive a phone call just before 6 p.m. Wednesday night inviting them to the town hall. The town hall is expected to last about one hour.

This week’s call marks Kilmer’s third telephone town hall of 2018. In the last month, the congressman has hosted two in-person town halls with local businesses and a telephone town hall.

Last week, he had a roundtable discussion with students about gun violence and then gave an update on Washington, D.C. to the North Kitsap-Poulsbo Rotary.
