High wind watch in effect through Sunday night

The advisory was issued just before 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28.

A wind advisory is issued when sustained winds of 30 to 39 mph or gusts of 45 to 57 mph are likely. The National Weather Service is forecasting local wind gusts of 45 to 50 miles per hour Saturday afternoon.

Another stronger weather system will arrive around Sunday evening, with a chance of damaging high winds over portions of Western Washington, according to the National Weather Service. A high wind watch which is in effect for late Sunday afternoon and night.

A high wind watch means there is the potential for a damaging wind event.
