Weed Warriors and the Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District are looking for volunteers to help cut down two well-berried hollies at the park from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22.

Helpers will tag the bundles to explain why holly is considered an invasive weed, what to use instead, and how to dispose of it properly (do not compost berries). There will be free bunches of holly for all who participate.

Helpers at Pritchard Park should go past the regular Pritchard Park parking lot, then turn left and park in Creosote Lane.Volunteers are also needed at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Winslow Winter Market at Eagle Harbor Congregational Church to give away the bundles.

Volunteers should dress warmly and bring gloves and pruners. Student volunteer service hours are also available.
