Father Patrick O’Leary will present “John’s Gospel as a School of Contemplative Prayer” from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22 at St. Cecilia Parish, Bainbridge.

Father O’Leary, the 2012 recipient of Seattle University’s highest honor, the St. Ignatius Medal, heads the office of Jesuit Mission and Identity at Seattle University and is the chaplain for the faculty and staff.

“What John tells us at the beginning is everything that exists is a part of God’s self expression,” O’Leary said. “The more the world is what it is called to be and we reverence it, and the more we become the human beings we are called to be, the more we are called into that Divine Life. That is part of our Christian faith and our sense of what is real.”

Donations will be accepted at the door.
