Bainbridge Island Historical Museum hopes to raise $100K

The Bainbridge Island Historical Museum is having an online fundraiser this week called “Hats Off to History.”

The goal of the drive is $100,000, and a bonus of matching funds will be provided for the first $25,000.

Monday, you can go to their website at bainbridgehistory.org and learn all about that decade. You can see oral histories, volunteer spotlights, Recipe of the Decade – Sunbeam Victory Cake, and listen to a Playlist consisting of “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” by the Andrews Sisters, “In the Mood” by Glenn Miller, and more.

Tuesday it’s the 1950s, Wednesday the 1960s, Thursday the 1970s and Friday the 1980s.

Also, after being shut down for months due to the coronavirus, the museum is open now from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There also is an online exhibit called “Fearless Music.”
