Bainbridge funeral procession for island-born Seattle firefighter.

A funeral procession lead by vehicles from the Bainbridge Island Fire Department passed through downtown Winslow this afternoon carrying Joseph Russell Kane, an island-born Seattle firefighter who died in a white-water rafting accident in western Idaho Friday, June 27.

The procession began at the Seattle ferry terminal where vehicles from that department escorted him onto the Seattle ferry to Bainbridge Island. The procession traveled to the Cook Family Funeral Home.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, July 8.

The Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at St. Cecilia Catholic Church on Bainbridge.

A private burial will be held at the Kane Cemetery.
