A late afternoon car crash has closed Highway 305 on Bainbridge Island in both directions at Day Road.

Northbound traffic was at a standstill just after 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Southbound traffic was being diverted at Hidden Cove Road and off the highway.

City officials estimated the highway would reopen by 7 p.m.
