Couple marry in New Orleans

Clairissa Childers and Dr. Nay Htyte were married on Friday, June 5, 2015 at the Cedar Grove Tchoupitoulas Plantation outside of New Orleans, Louisiana.

Clairissa Childers and Dr. Nay Htyte were married on Friday, June 5, 2015 at the Cedar Grove Tchoupitoulas Plantation outside of New Orleans, Louisiana.

The bride is the daughter of Frank Childers and Mary Terry of Bainbridge Island and is a 1999 Bainbridge High graduate. She received her degree in dietetics from Hunter College in New York City in 2008 and currently works as a clinical dietitian at West Jefferson Hospital in New Orleans.

The groom is the son of Drs. Dawsan Kyu and Kyaw Htyte of Brooklyn, New York and a graduate of Hofstra University.

After receiving his medical degree in Internal Medicine, he served his residency at Roosevelt-St. Luke’s Hospital in New York where they met. He will complete the cardiology program at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans in June 2015 before embarking on a two-year fellowship in interventional cardiology at Ochsner.

The bride’s attendants were her sister Katy Childers, Lisa Coble, Zoe Diaz and Jessica Glover, all BHS graduates, as well as friends Amy Godwin and Leslie McKeown of New York.

She was also honored to have the support of longtime Bainbridge friends Emily Wright and Ryan Swartling, Jacob Boundy, Janice Huang, Jenny Reed and Josh Carl, Tim Burke, Missy and Darth Rehder, Robin Foster, Zack White and Morgan Alconcher.
