Carolyn Marie Olberg passed away Nov. 26, 2015.

She was the second of four children born to Mary Kay and Wayne Ericksen of Portland, Oregon.

Carolyn was born on April 21, 1948 and was raised in the Raleigh Hills neighborhood. She graduated from Beaverton High School.

Carolyn attended Oregon State University for two years where she was affiliated with Kappa Kappa Gamma. She transferred to Syracuse University to complete a major in fine arts and graduated in 1970. Carolyn began her commercial interior design career in Portland and Seattle. She married Knut Olberg of Seattle in 1975 and they lived in Grand Coulee and Wenatchee before moving to Bellevue in 1977. Carolyn moved to Bainbridge Island in 2003. She continued her working career as a financial advisor/planner and completed the University of Washington course to work as a Certified Professional Guardian.

Carolyn developed a rare cancer that took her life three short weeks from her diagnosis.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter Torie (Ian) Ritchie of Bainbridge Island; Erik (Anissa) Olberg of Bothell; beloved grandchildren Ian and Dallas Ritchie and Dylan, Lucy and Avery Olberg; sister Ann (RC) Grim of Salem, Oregon; brothers Bob Ericksen and Steve Ericksen of Tigard, Oregon; step brothers Bob (Joyce) McNiesh of Bellevue and Charlie (Susan) McNiesh of Los Gatos, California and nieces and nephews and their families.

A celebration of life will be held in mid January.
