Carol Jean McArdle Bennett passed away Nov. 4, 2014.

Carol Jean was born June 28, 1944 in West Seattle to Kannyon and Edna McArdle.

The family moved to Bainbridge Island in 1952.

Jean, as she preferred to be called, graduated from Bainbridge Island in 1962. She owned and operated Bainbridge Island Taxi Co. with her husband, John Minnoch. After his death she moved to Port Orchard. She worked as nightshift care giver at Kitsap Residencies for 22 years until her retirement in April of this year.

Jean married Roger Bennett on May 10, 1997. Her interests included reading and bowling. She was a member of two bowling leagues at High Joy Bowl in Port Orchard. Together the members of the leagues Jean collected and provided cosmetics and toiletries to the shelter for victims of domestic violence. She was a fan of both the Seattle Mariners and Seattle Seahawks. Jean found satisfaction from collecting owls, in addition to Pillsbury Dough Boy, Coca-Cola and Elvis Presley memorabilia. She especially enjoyed camping and fishing with Roger.

Jean is survived by her husband, Roger; her sons, John and Jason Minnoch; and stepdaughter, Heather Bennett. In addition she is survived by her brothers, Dave McArdle (Marilyn) and Joe (Twyla) and sisters Joan Lanning (Richard) and Sally Jones.

Memorial services have not been planned at this time.
