Candidate should learn how to handle criticism | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor:

I have been reading a series of letters from a Mr. Olsen who seems to stand in judgment of all who have the temerity to disagree with him.

While doing so, he also uses the generous space of the letters columns to campaign for his election to something or other.

It should be pointed out to Mr. Olsen that most candidates invest in paid advertising for their candidacy as he should.  He might also take a useful course to help dealing with sensitivity to criticism, something that would be immensely useful should he ever be a successful candidate for anything.

Most recently, Mr. Olsen has complained of what he calls “ad hominem” commentary. Problem is he uses that very process in responding to whatever critical remarks come his way. That is not so much bad form as it is sad.
