10:54 a.m. A woman contacted police after receiving strange mail, which she thought was sent by a man against whom she filed a protection order.

Earlier that morning the woman received a piece of mail with no return address. She recognized the handwriting to be that of a man who she had taken out a protection against.

In the mail were a number of photographs of the woman. None of them were threatening or elicit. Also in the envelope was a card with a love poem that referred to an upcoming anniversary. The woman thought the letter was talking about the upcoming expiration of the protection order, June 17.

She said the person she filed the protection order against is the only one with access to the photos, and the only one who would send mail to her parents’ home to reach her.

Police attempted to reach the man but calls to listed numbers weren’t answered.

The mother told police she knew her actions were wrong. She was arrested and taken to Kitsap County Jail for assault and given a court date.
