Bainbridge Organic Distillers couldn’t have done better at this year’s Great American Distillers Festival in Portland.

The distillery pulled in double gold for their Bainbridge Battle Point Organic Whiskey.

“Whenever it’s a serious competition and they’re really judging the liquid in the bottle, it’s a testament that we’re doing it the right way,” said Keith Barnes of Bainbridge Organic Distillers.

The Bainbridge Battle Point Organic Whiskey received the gold medal for “Best Wheat Whiskey” as well as the creme de la creme of awards, the gold medal in “Best of Show.”

“Best of Show” considers entries in all the spirit categories and selects the best overall product.

The Bainbridge Battle Point Whiskey is distilled from 100 percent USDA certified organic, soft white wheat. It is also fermented with a combination of Scottish and Irish yeast, which makes it a little more complex than the average bourbon.

This was the first year that Bainbridge Distillery participated in the Great American Distillers Festival, which took place on Oct. 4 and 5 and attracted more than 80 American and international distilleries.
