The Bainbridge Island School District Board of Directors will have a special meeting at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17 in the Bainbridge High School Library to conduct interviews to select a consulting firm to lead a search for a new superintendent.

Board directors will interview four firms.

Each firm will share a brief presentation, and then board members will have time to ask questions. Each interview will last approximately 30 to 40 minutes. At the conclusion of the interviews, community members will have the opportunity to provide written feedback.

Public comment will not be taken at the meeting.

The board will then go into an executive session to discuss the community feedback and qualifications of each firm. After the firms have been fully vetted, a decision will be made and the selected firm will be announced.

District Superintendent Faith Chapel announced earlier that she will be retiring from her post at the end of the school year.
